It was my first time at Kasama (visiting from out of town) and made sure to do plenty of research about the menu/wait times as well as ask local friends about their experiences. I had also seen plenty of IG videos/stories and wanted to try their breakfast more so than dinner...also heard this place has a long line out the door before they even open (especially on the weekends) so my group of five and I arrived 15 minutes before doors open on a Sunday and there were already 50 people in front of us. It took us an hour to place our order and once you’re inside, the pastries are eye-catching, the workers are hustling, and it feels like a well run cafe operation. It was a really nice day out so we asked for patio seating and they were able to seat us immediately. The breakfast food, pastries, and drinks came out in under 10 minutes - they were all so delicious and it made the hour wait worth it! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Chicago.

First time in Chicago and I know I want to try this place. Waited in line for 1 1/2 hour to try their food. Is it tough to wait with 2 toddlers? Definitely. But it’s still worth it. We almost ordered everything. Ordered Filipino breakfast, lumpia shanghai, meatloaf Kare Kare, Pork Belly Adobo and of course their pastries Ube and Huckleberry Basque cake. Everything is sooooo good. Even their hot chocolate is good

Kasama exceeded my expectations. We all ordered breakfast sandwiches with sausage, egg, and cheese. They were delicious, I could have eaten two haha. My mom ordered a hashbrown side, and I think I regret not doing the same since it gives the sandwich a unique crunch. We also ordered some pastries; they're large, so you could share. I honestly don't remember what we ordered, but everything was delicious and freshly made. You have to get there early; they open at 9 a.m., and we arrived at 8:30 a.m., and there was already a long line waiting. We entered the restaurant at 9:56 a.m. They took our order very quickly, and by 10:05 a.m. they had already brought our entire order to the table. The service is super fast and friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

We did the tasting menu for dinner and enjoyed it. Like all tasting menus, some dishes are just ok to me but some blew my mind and were amazing. We also did the non alcoholic pairing, which actually was very creative and complementary to the flavors of the dishes. I do recommend trying it!!

Taking Filipino food to new levels...well worth the Michelin star! The dishes are elevated but the Filipino essence is preserved. It is a good way to present Filipino cuisine for the wider audience. Chef has great respect to the original Filipino dishes. If you are a Filipino you will recognise the flavours from your grandma's cooking. For non Filipinos it opens a new door to the generally underrated Filipino cuisine. High quality ingredients (wagyu, caviar etc) add a touch of luxury to the traditional dishes. For one of the guest's crustaceans allergy quite few alterations had to be made to the dishes. All these were as well thought through as the original dishes. Service is professional and adjusted to your liking. If you like to chat the servers will take time for that. If you prefer less communication this is also respected. The pace of the dinner was relaxed...we didn't feel rushed and ended up spending 2.5 hrs there without noticing how time flew. Their cocktails are also very high level. Calamanci sour was especially nice to accompany the dishes. Overall great experience. It's a bit pricey, but for special occasion we'll worth it.

Amazing pastries, blissful perfection. The oh hot yam drink was balanced and comforting. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches, pecan sticky bun, oatmeal cream pie, ube and huck basque cake. The tarts and poppy seed cake are so tasty too, but need refrigeration so have a cooler ready for those type of treats if not eating right away or going for a picnic. Navy pier is about a 15 -20 min drive from this location and was the perfect spot to enjoy this sublime meal.

Woke up at 9 AM to order online and was able to pick up the breakfast sandwich (longganisa) three hours later. It was DEFINITELY worth the hype - bread was great, eggs super fluffy, sausage flavorful as well. I recommend adding the hash brown inside - it added a nice crunch. Will update this when I go back and get pastries!

Kasama has really raised the bar for me. It was so good, we ordered it two times in a row. The best time to go is likely Friday afternoon around 1pm (no wait). Saturday morning around 11 was busy with an estimate of an hr wait in line. I highly recommend placing an online order to skip the lines. I would skip the breakfast items and order straight from the savory menu. The premium prices are worth it in my opinion. The top highlights include weekend specials (chicken adobo and pork belly adobo), cheesecake, and tamarind matcha!
